Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Charlottesville public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Town Dissolution
Mineral's local election has turned into a referendum on the town's survival after the mayor previously tried to dissolve the local government entirely. Candidates are heavily divided on whether the town should keep running its own show or hand the keys over to Louisa County.
Leaf Collection
Charlottesville's seasonal curbside leaf pickup is back starting October 26, bringing vacuum trucks through your neighborhood for three separate passes to clear out those fallen leaves.
Schenks Branch sewer line easement
The city will buy an easement (~$59K, city's share) along county property to finish phase two of a sewer capacity project serving much of this side of the city — avoiding a costlier, traffic-disrupting reroute and adding a shared-use path.
